Litter Abatement

In 2014, county and city governments removed 509,380 bags of litter on 168,873 miles of roadways. Most of the items found on roadways are plastic bottles and food containers.

grant Program

Litter abatement grant funding is available to county and city governments. The deadline to apply for 2016 funding was Nov. 2, 2015.  The application, reporting forms and other useful links are provided below:

Contact your county solid waste coordinator or judge/executive if a county road has a litter problem.  Contact your mayor if a city road has a litter problem.
