WHAT'S NEW
Kentucky Division of Waste Management Annual Report, Fiscal Year 2008 – This report contains information that measures the progress division programs have made regarding the management of solid and hazardous waste and clean up of releases to the environment. Also, the report identifies areas where we need improvement or additional focus.
State awards e-scrap recycling contract – The Finance and Administration Cabinet has awarded a contract that will result in recycling of more than 5 million pounds of electronic scrap generated by government agencies and educational institutions in Kentucky each year. Finance press release

Air Products and Chemicals Inc. – Marshall County. Approval by the Division of Waste Management of a Groundwater Assessment Report for the company’s residual landfill and special waste landfarm. After the report is approved, Air Products will submit a corrective action plan. Word PDF

Methamphetamine Cleanup Contractor Certification – As of June 27, 2007, the division's Superfund Branch is required to maintain a list of contractors certified to perform cleanup of methamphetamine contamination. Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) Bulbs – Contact your county solid waste coordinator or garbage service provider about recycling or disposal in your area. One option is The Home Depot's National CFL Recycling Program. Scrap copper reporting requirements – Kentucky law requires scrap dealers to maintain records and report the purchases of scrap copper to local law enforcement officials to help prevent the theft of scrap wire, cable and pipes containing copper. Click here to review KRS 365.250.
